Goleta, California, August 12-22, 2003

This was a short trip to visit Joy's Brother and Sister-in-law, who have an RV pad next to their home in Goleta. We stayed there for a week, then returned through Fresno where we had an appointment for some warranty work at the dealer's.
Goleta
In Goleta we mostly lazed around and read, visited, and took long walks. Holly had her second ocean swimming experience, but couldn't quite get used to the waves.

Joy's brother Noel and his wife Peggy are volunteers at the South Coast Railroad Museum.
We spent one afternoon at the Santa Barbara zoo.
We spent only one day in Fresno, as they were ready for us with all of the parts to finish up warranty items from the original purchase. We were glad for that, as it was 98-102 degrees there. One part was wrong, so there will be at least one more trip to Fresno before we are done.

On the way back to Eureka we spent a night in Dunnigan at Happy Times RV Park. A thunderstorm started at 4 pm, and continued off and on until a fireworks crescendo at 6 am the next morning. Power went out at 9 pm and had not been restored by the time we left around 10 am. Not much inconvenience for a self-contained coach, but I couldn't do my normal full flush of the black tank before returning home - no water pressure without power to their well pump.
