Painting

On a 17 year-old coach it is not surprising that there are issues with parts of the exterior finish. Besides nicks and scratches that needed touchup painting, the upper edge of the sides and back had serious clear-coat peeling.
Depending on the viewing angle, the back looked fairly bad.
Small areas of re-clearcoating were attempted, but the color did not match. Eventually the decision was made to paint the affected areas. The blue on the back cap was the test surface. All loose clear coat was removed with a plastic scraper and 220-grit sandpaper. Final prep was sanding with 400-grit.
About halfway through the prep.
Paint chosen was Dupont Nason 2K Ful-Thane urethane. This does not require a followup clearcoat, and cuts both effort and cost in half.
Painting completed.
Not a professional job, but looks very good from ground level. The rest of the top edge, including red and gold, will probably be done over the coming summer.
Roughly the same view as the first picture above.
