DrivingAroundIran

When I look at Google Earth today at Iran I see a lot of freeways and other major roads, as well as paved secondary roads. We had a few of the paved roads, but by-and-large we were on dirt roads, or dirt paths.

Navigating through towns was always a challenge, as you can see.

For field work we generally had 3/4-ton M37 Dodge Power Wagons. The basecamps had M35 Deuce and a halfs, along with a few Ford pickups. The last few pictures below are of a basecamp move, which was always a big undertaking.
