Don & Joy's TravelsUntil 2002 there is a huge portion of the US that neither of us had seen. In April of 2002 we were able to contemplate semi-retirement with a lot of travel time available, so we rented a motorhome for a couple of weeks to see how we liked traveling that way. We found it much more enjoyable than car/motel travel. After a short period of time looking for a used diesel pusher we settled on a 1998 Safari Sahara. We placed a Datastorm internet antenna on the roof, which allows Don to attend to the computer maintaining that is the "semi" part of our retirement. After a little under a year we knew that, while we liked the Safari, there were things we would rather have arranged differently. This lead to the purchase of a 2003 Safari Zanzibar, which was our home on the road for four years. In January, 2007, we moved back in time to a 1990 Blue Bird Wanderlodge WB40. That was sold in January, 2013, and in March we purchased a 2004 Blue Bird M380. We travel around 1/2 of the time, returning to Eureka between trips to do things like yard chores, and keep our cats company.Below you will find pages detailing our motorhome travel adventures.
