ViewsAroundTehran

These are a few images from around Tehran, to give a flavor of what it was like in the 60s. Double-decker busses, orange taxis, signs in English.

Structures include the Iran Central Bank building, which now houses the National Jewels Museum; don't know if it did then or not. Then the Soviet embassy, two of the American Embassy, and two of the British embassy.

After I got out of the army I was in Tehran a great deal of the time, and used to play tennis on the embassy courts. My boss had sons who played football for the Tehran American School (they fielded two teams, so all intra-mural) at a field on the embassy grounds, and I was the unofficial school photographer for those games.
