headquarters

The headquarters for the Topo Training Team was in Tehran, and was alongside a few other US military operations such as ARMISH-MAAG (Army Mission Military Assistance Advisory Group) which I suppose we were technically part of, and I think the AFRTS (Armed Forces Radio and Television Service) were located there as well. Our motor pool was there also.

I spent the last few months of my army time (mostly) as the operations clerk; before that I was only in Tehran for short stays between basecamp moves. The interior pictures below are all of the operations office, including the fish eye from a balcony. I spent a lot of time up on that balcony photographing survey log books; we would put them on microfiche and send them to Army Map Service in the US. When they confirmed receipt we would send the originals.
